5 DIGIT FARMER'S PIG SHOULDER TATTOO
The best identification for marking live pigs immediately prior
to despatch to the slaughter-house. One slap on the shoulder of
the live pig is all that is required to give a legible, permanently
tattooed mark on the carcass. The tattoo is supplied with a maximum
of five letters as a code. When using, ink the face of tool (needles)
each time on inking box before striking pig.
6 DIGIT FARMER'S PIG SHOULDER TATTOO
We are pleased to offer the availability of a new 6 digit Shoulder
Tattoo for use with pigs.
Based on our robust and easy-to-use 5 digit model, this new tattoo
has been specially developed to comply with the new regulations
issued by DEFRA and which came into force on 1 November 2003.
The new official DEFRA herd mark, which must consist of 1 or 2
alpha characters followed by 4 digits, for example, AB1234 or B1234,
can be easily incorporated within the head of a new tattoo to leave
a clear and permanent identification mark following a firm slap
on the shoulder of the live pig. Since it is only marginally larger
than its 5 digit predecessor, we wish to point out that any inking
boxes or dies purchased for the 5 digit model may still be used.
